You can’t go wrong with the Museum of Solutions (MuSo) in Parel. It is a world-class interactive, science-meets-play space for children of all ages to learn about the world in a fun and engaging way. This incredibly impressive museum boasts a library and reading room, an extensive climbing structure that spans two floors, and tons of immersive and interactive areas to spark joy. They also host workshops and classes for kids throughout the month, make sure to check it out before heading there.

If they love nature & the great outdoors,

Then Sanjay Gandhi National Park, an unheralded gem in the middle of one of the densest cities in the world is it. This National park still within city limits is the perfect quick escape away from the bustle of the big city for you & your kids. Go on a nature trail (guide mandatory), cycle or walk unguided down the main road or visit the ancient Kanheri caves at this unheralded gem.

You could also consider the Nature Trail at the Conservation Education Centre( BNHS) in Goregaon. This 33 sq km protected forest sanctuary is now a thriving haven for majestic leopards, diverse deer species, magnificent birds, reptiles, amphibians, and an array of fascinating insects and vibrant flora. 

Heading to the Thane Creek Flamingo Sanctuary is also a great option during the flamingo season! You and your kids get to enjoy an hour-long ride on a 24-seater boat through mangroves as you get a close-up view of flamingos and other birds that visit between November & June. Add it to your seasons things to do list! 

If they have a sweet tooth,

Head to Parsi Dairy Farm near Marine Lines, a beloved 90’s kid staple newly rebranded, for their signature kulfis, sweets and candy factory vibes. Perfect for an afternoon out. While introducing them to decade-old sweet shops, do take them to the legendary K.Rustoms & Co. Ice Cream Parlour for their legendary ice cream sandwiches. They could also have an India Charlie & the Chocolate Factory experience with a Magical Mithai Making Tour where halwais teach you how to roll laddus and pipe hot jalebis, yummy!

If your kids love trying new things, 

Try out the many, many immersive workshops across the city with some incredible facilitators. This fun & intriguing Screen Printing Workshop is perfect for beginners. Learn the basics of hand-pulling prints, transferring designs using coloured inks & even printing custom stationery that you can take home! 

Tucked away in Prabhadevi is this Clay Workshop, taught by a ceramic artist and graduate of the J.J. School of Arts.  Learn some basic hand-building techniques - pinching, coiling and the slab method and experiment with the potter’s wheel. A wonderful way to spend the afternoon with your kids! 

Or even try your hand at a Glass Paperweight-making Workshop where expert artists walk you through the process of making paperweights. Learn the potential of glass, how to gather glass, apply colours, and make paperweights. Kids can also get a cast of their handmade!
